Advantages Of Having The Holy Spirit

As a refresher taken from the lesson of The three faces of God. The Holy Spirit is described as the third face of God. Here are a few excerpts and additional references:

Joh_14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him nor know Him. But you know Him, for He dwells with you and shall be in you.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you
Joh 15:26 And when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me.
Joh 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come.
Joh 16:14 He will glorify Me, for He will receive of Mine and will announce it to you.
Joh 16:15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and will announce it to you
Joh_16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: (Jesus prayed for the people when He was on earth, but when He went to Heaven that job was given to the Holy Spirit.)

Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.
Rom_8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom_8:27 And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Jesus had to leave the earth. His ministry here was complete after he suffered on the cross for our sins. Now, he had to prepare a place for those saved in Heaven.

Joh 14:2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Christ was also at a disadvantage, as a human, that he could only be in one place at a time. He had prayed for many while on earth, but how could he pray for people all over the earth at the same time? Knowing this, God sent the Holy Spirt to all believers, to live within them and know their hearts. To pray for them, knowing the will of God the Father and able to translate the needs and desires of all believers. The Holy Spirit is also able to speak to all trusting in Christ to bring back to mind what Jesus had taught and they studied in scripture. He also is a guide and comforter to the saved. Helping to make good decisions and bring peace in the form of faith knowing that God is all powerful to provide good to those saved. We likely will not understand like many things, at the time they happen, but, we can trust that all things work for our good when God intervenes.

Rom_8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Knowing us completely, the Holy Spirt can also pray to the Father for our protection and healing, even before we may be aware of our need. In addition, the Holy Spirit pleads to God for us, reminding The Father that we are under Christ’s grace and His sacrifice. The Holy Spirit can also speak to us about the future to warn and guide us. The Holy Spirit is a personal representative of God, assigned to each person in Christ, for our good and God’s will. What a blessing sent by God! Give thanks.
