Gen 2:7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have of God? And you are not your own,

1Co 15:44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

We speak of Life being sacred, and it is. But, what are we really describing?

We know our bodies are the temples of God. That they were formed from the ground and, after death deteriorate. But upon entering heaven, the bodies are reconstituted and redeemed into eternal bodies as Christ’s body was. Luke 12:23 describes the body as more than clothing (for the Spirit and soul). Exactly what the “more” is we are not told.

We know that our spirits/souls are eternal and will either continue in harmony and joy with Christ or in torment in a lake of fire with Satan. The spirit is found in the blood.

Life in the body and the spirit is sacred because God is the creator of all life and has created it out of His holyness. It is therefore Holy, belonging to God.

Life on earth is special because it is here that our unfettered choices determine where we will spend eternity. It is also the only time that we may influence others, and they us, about choices and decisions.
