A Higher Glory

Before coming to earth as a man Jesus had honor and glory in heaven. He created all things including solar systems, mountains, lakes, rivers, plants animals, fish and mankind. He had angels at his beckon call. Whatever was desired, he made with perfection. He was in fellowship with His Father and in His presence. He could have been content, but God’s greatest creation of mankind in God’s own image was in trouble and would have been doomed to hell if God did not intervene somehow. Mankind was inclined toward sin which God’s law would not allow. Jesus was sent to overcome the problem.

Joh 17:5 And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
Act 7:49 “Heaven is My throne and earth is My footstool. What house will you build Me, says the Lord, or what is the place of My rest?
Act 7:50 Has not My hand made all these things?”
Eph 3:9 and to bring to light what is the fellowship of the mystery which from eternity has been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ;

When on earth Christ’s glory was diminished for, He was in the presence of sin. Yet, the Father was in Him, just as the Holy Spirit is in those who follow Christ, and He resisted sin and succeeded in overcoming all Satan’s temptings and powers. Jesus personally felt temptation and saw the failures of those about him. He was always moved with compassion and always offered grace and forgiveness instead of strictly following the Law given to Moses. The law did not offer passion but justice and order. What had changed? God’s desire for mercy led to Christ’s suffering for all following him. God’s compassion led to an escape clause for those who honored Christ with their faith and were willing to change and be led by God instead of Satan. Temptations and sufferings while on earth still remained as testings but could now be overcome when earnest prayers for help in the name of Christ were taken to the Father by the Holy Spirit. The Father’s guidance through the Holy Spirit was also available to aid in avoiding problems. Mankind was not left alone without hope for salvation and a new and better eternity under God’s kingdom without a satan.

Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth.
Joh 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in Me? The Words that I speak to you I do not speak of Myself, but the Father who dwells in Me, He does the works.
Joh 14:11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the very works themselves.
Joh 14:19 Yet a little while and the world does not see Me any more. But you see Me. Because I live, you shall live also.
Joh 14:20 At that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

Heb 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with different kinds of miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
Heb 2:5 For He has not put in subjection to the angels the world to come, of which we speak.
Heb 2:6 But one testified in a certain place, saying, “What is man, that You are mindful of him; or the son of man, that You visit him?
Heb 2:7 You have made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of Your hands.
Heb 2:8 You subjected all things under his feet.” For in subjecting all things to Him, He did not leave anything not subjected to Him. But now we do not see all things having been subjected to him.
Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that He by the grace of God should taste death for all.

When Christ overcame all that Satan had attacked him with and again came to Heaven, he graduated to the highest glory possible in Heaven and on earth. Even higher than that which he had before going to earth. He not only had saved himself, but all those following Him. He had given the Father glory while on earth and had shared the Father’s will and the truth for a path back to God. There would be some casualties lost by their own choosing, but justice was still served and God would receive more honor and glory.

Joh 17:1 Jesus spoke these words and lifted up His eyes to Heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son so that Your Son also may glorify You,
Joh 17:2 even as You have given Him authority over all flesh so that He should give eternal life to all You have given Him.
Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Joh 17:4 I have glorified You upon the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
Joh 17:5 And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
Joh 17:6 I have revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
Joh 17:7 Now they have known that all things, whatever You have given Me, are from You.
Joh 17:8 For I have given to them the Words which You gave Me, and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from You. And they have believed that You sent Me.
Joh 17:9 I pray for them. I do not pray for the world, but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.
Joh 17:10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I am glorified in them.
Joh 17:15 I do not pray for You to take them out of the world, but for You to keep them from the evil.
Joh 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through Your truth. Your Word is truth.
Joh 17:18 As You have sent Me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.
Joh 17:22 And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as We are one,
Joh 17:24 Father, I desire that those whom You have given Me, that they may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me, for You have loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Heb 1:1 God, who at many times and in many ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds,
Heb 1:3 who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, through Himself cleansing of our sins, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high,
Heb 1:4 being made so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Php 2:5 For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
Php 2:6 who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God,
Php 2:7 but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name,
Php 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of heavenly ones, and of earthly ones, and of ones under the earth;
Php 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
