Heaven Study

Part II

Psa 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the overflowing of peace.
Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth.
Rev 3:12 Him who overcomes I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will go out no more. And I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of Heaven from My God, and My new name.
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And the sea no longer is.
Rev 21:2 And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband.

Doesn’t this make a good case for the final heaven being on earth! Where Christ is, and those that are His will be.

Psa_37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Mat_5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Gen 2:7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Eph 1:4 according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

Christ knew us as spirit before He created the earth, then when we are born, our spirit is mated with a physical living body. When earthly life is over, the Spirit remains forever.

Jer 1:5 Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I consecrated you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.

God knows us in spirit form before birth. Spirit forms are never destroyed. Even in Hell’s Lake of Fire the spirit worms continue to exist.

Isa 66:24 And they will go out and see the dead bodies of the men who have sinned against Me; for their worm will not die, nor will their fire be put out; and they will be an object of disgust to all flesh.
Mar 9:43 And if your hand offends you, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than to have two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched
Mar 9:44 where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mar 9:45 And if your foot offends you, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame than to have two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched
Mar 9:46 where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mar 9:47 And if your eye offends you, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes to be cast into hell fire
Mar 9:48 where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

The worm, or person’s spirit, does not burn up. The Holy Spirit fire is of God and cannot cleanse the evil spirit of those in the lake because there is no atonement except by the blood of Christ, which they have not accepted. The fire, like the holy fire of Pentecost and the burning bush seen by Moses, has no fuel, does not require oxygen and does not incinerate. The fire is of God because it was Christ who created all things as good. It is Satan who tries to change what God made as good into evil.

Rev 20:10 And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were. And he will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Rev 20:15 And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire.

1Co 15:40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the glory of the heavenly is truly different, and that of the earthly different;
1Co 15:41 one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
1Co 15:42 So also the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption;
1Co 15:43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;
1Co 15:44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul,” the last Adam was a life-giving Spirit.
1Co 15:46 But not the spiritual first, but the natural; afterward the spiritual.
1Co 15:47 The first man was out of earth, earthy; the second Man was the Lord from Heaven.
1Co 15:48 Such the earthy man, such also the earthy ones. And such the heavenly Man, such also the heavenly ones.
1Co 15:49 And according as we bore the image of the earthy man, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.
1Co 15:50 And I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I speak a mystery to you; we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed;
1Co 15:52 in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and when this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the word that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?”

Thus, the fleshly body is raised a spiritual heavenly body that does not have to be concerned with the needs of an earthly body. There is no hunger, deterioration or aging, pain, sickness, temperature sensitivity, limitations of travel by conveyance and all spiritual things can be known and seen (such as the light of Christ’s glory which provides heavenly illumination everywhere without shadows.)

2Co 5:8 then we are confident and we are pleased rather to go away from home out of the body, and to come home to the Lord.
2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to that which he has done, whether good or bad.

People have a choice while alive. Accept Christ and the will of the Father to live. Reject God and His sacrifice to reject Heaven. Don’t blame God for people’s choices.

Dan 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dan 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, that you be not grieved, even as others who have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.
1Th 4:15 For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.

When the physical body dies and sleeps in the ground, the spirit immediately goes to the spiritual Paradise or temporary first heaven where Christ is now.

When Christ and his followers come to a renewed earth as the final heaven, the spirits have both spiritual and physical properties, equal to the one Christ had when he returned to the disciples after His resurrection. A difference occurs though because, I believe, the spiritual body can exhibit physical qualities as desired. Christ said we would be like him, and he walked through a wall and then could be touched and could eat real food. Christ was also concerned that Mary should not touch Him when they met at the tomb before His ascension to God the Father.

If heavenly bodies can pass through solids, like walls, then the converse should also be true, that solids can pass through resurrected bodies. How disconcerting it will be for earthly enemies of God to try and kill God’s warriors during the battle of Armageddon as they attack Israel. Swords, bombs and bullets will easily pass through Christ’s warriors leaving them unharmed. No wonder that Angels cannot be killed! What an awesome force for good.

Spiritual bodies do not have to eat physical food. They are primarily energized and nourished by that which is spiritual, the word of God carried by the Holy spirit.

Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written that “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God.”

Thus, it is not necessary that man or animal must kill in order to eat. All can then live in harmony and at peace with each other.

Isa 11:6 Also the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the cub lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
Isa 11:8 And the suckling child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.
Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea.

Normally, humans cannot see or touch spirit bodies. Those who walked with Christ on the road to Emmaus did not recognize him until He broke the bread and their eyes were spiritually opened. At other times Jesus could appear and disappear at will to be in different places. All those in Heaven should also be able to immediately transport to other locations. Thus, no need for energy burning vehicles. Thus, the yearly trip to honor Christ in Jerusalem will be no problem. Travel to other planets could also be possible. However, Jacob wrestled with an angel and they certainly touched each other then.

Spirit bodies would not be affected by temperatures encountered on other planets. They would not find it difficult to adapt to an earth world now without the heat of the sun and now lighted by Christ’s holiness glory and power. Seeing spiritually would give a more vivid sight of color. Spiritual light is not limited as physical light for spiritual light includes the depth and understanding of God for all qualities. There will be no shadows for spiritual things are not hindered by any blockages, even solids. The light of Christ will continue forever and there will be no night. Spirit bodies will not become tired, so there is no need of sleep.

God occasionally allows people to see into spiritual things. Stephen could see Christ in the spiritual heaven before he was stoned. The others there could not see this spirit world. Balaam had his eyes open to the spirit world when he saw the angel standing in the way of his ass. In Heaven, the inhabitants will be able to fully know each other, even in spirit, their very nature, just as God knows us now.

1Co 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall fully know even as I also am fully known.

Christ knew the thoughts of what others, and God the Father, were thinking. In Heaven, on the new earth, God will solve the problem of communication with ones of a different age and a different language by allowing direct communication through the Holy Spirit. Jesus always did what He saw the Father desired. The Holy Spirit was the link between human and God’s Spirit while Jesus was on earth. The same Holy Spirit is the link now between prayers of Christians and Christ and the Father.

Mat 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. And every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
Luk 6:8 But He knew their thoughts and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle. And he arose and stood.
Joh 8:29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things which please Him.
Mat 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak; for it shall be given you in that same hour what you shall speak.
Mat 10:20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Joh 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you, but He who sent Me is true, and I speak to the world those things what I heard of Him.
Joh 8:27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.
Joh 8:28 Then Jesus said to them, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you shall know that I AM, and that I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

God describes the new Jerusalem on the new earth as a place of joy for His people. Shouldn’t it also be so for all in Christ?

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth. And the things before will not be remembered, nor come to mind.
Isa 65:18 But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Isa 65:19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and I will rejoice in My people; and the voice of weeping will no more be heard in her, nor the voice of crying be heard in her.
Isa 65:21 And they will build houses and live in them; and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
Isa 65:22 They will not build, and another live in them; they will not plant, and another eat. For like the days of a tree are the days of My people, and My elect will long enjoy the work of their hands.

I wonder if people will also be able to speak things into existence as Christ did using the power of the Father. After all, they are called sons and daughters of God. That is how things were created in the beginning. The place that Christ prepares for his own could well be the new earth and not individual dwellings.

Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth tender sprouts (the herb seedling seed and the fruit tree producing fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself) upon the earth; and it was so.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.
Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a living soul; and let birds fly over the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens.
Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creepers, and its beasts of the earth after its kind; and it was so.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth.
Mat 17:20 And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there. And it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible to you.

Spiritual beings can also take on human form. Angels and sons of God occasionally take on human form and even mated with women in early scripture.

Gen 6:2 the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves from all whom they chose.
Gen 6:3 And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days. And also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore to them, they were mighty men who existed of old, men of renown.
Job 1:6 And a day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah. And Satan also came among them.
Luk 20:36 Nor can they die any more, for they are equal to the angels, and are the sons of God, being the sons of the resurrection.

In Heaven, the sons of God do not die and are equal to the angels who are not given in marriage, except to serve Jesus forever as helpers and family. Praise God!
