Only God is Good
Psa_62:5 My soul, be silent only to God; for my hope is from Him.
Ecc_12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether evil.
Rom_1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Ecc_3:17 I said in my heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
As sin becomes greater in the last days and those in government are more likely to lie, steal and sin, we must remember to be very careful about judging individuals without proof and god’s wisdom. Juries hear evidence based on facts and render judgements according to governmental authority. Individuals must also properly judge themselves to escape Godly judgement and judge others based on facts sought with Godly wisdom and prayer. Ultimately, Christians know that God will judge all people and provide proper punishment or rewards after earthly life. Even Jesus refused to call himself good while on earth.
Mar_10:18 And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good except one, God.
Luk_18:19 And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me good? None is good except One, God.
While on earth Jesus was in the presence of sin and eventually had all sin placed on Him while on the cross. However, He never did sin. When He rose from death to sit at the right hand of God the Father, His glory became above all mankind and angels.
Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that He by the grace of God should taste death for all.
Php 2:5 For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
Php 2:6 who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God,
Php 2:7 but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name,
Php 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of heavenly ones, and of earthly ones, and of ones under the earth;
Php 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
For now, be aware of the actions of others, be open to verified truth and trust only those who are proved reliable. Avoid sin and sinners when possible.
Deu_19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sins. At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be made sure.
Know our earthly nature.
Jer_17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
Mat_7:1 Judge not, that you may not be judged.
Mat 7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you shall be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And why do you look on the splinter that is in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the beam that is in your own eye?
Continue to judge your own actions and change those not in agreement with God’s will to avoid Godly judgement later.
FB Meyer comment: There is abundant need for a right and sound judgment, illumined by the Spirit of truth; but there is a world of difference between it and the censorious and critical opinions which we are apt to form and utter about others biased on heresy and gossip. Ask God for understanding to know the truth before pronouncing a verdict.
