Salvation
Salvation requires faith. Works then prove the faith.
There is a need for salvation for all have sinned. Christ offers salvation as a gift to all who believe in him. After repentance, salvation and baptism all receive the gift of the Holy Spirit as a guide and comforter and teacher within themselves.
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,
Rom 3:24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame.”
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call on Him.
Rom 10:13 For everyone, “whoever shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Rom 10:17 Then faith is of hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. But set your mind to be right‑minded, even as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Luk 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his lord shall set over his house servants, to give them their portion of food in season?
Luk 12:43 Blessed is that servant when his lord comes and finds him so doing.
Luk 12:44 Truly I say to you that he will set him over all his possessions.
Luk 12:45 But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat the male servants and women servants, and to eat and drink and to be drunk,
Luk 12:46 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect, and at an hour when he does not know. And he will cut him apart, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
Luk 12:47 And that servant who knew his lord’s will and did not prepare, nor did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
1Co 8:3 But if anyone loves God, he has been known of him.
(We show that we love God by obeying His words.)
Phi 4:3 And I also beg you, true yoke‑fellow, help those women who labored in the gospel with me and with Clement, and others of my fellow‑laborers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
A loss of faith and salvation is possible.
Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked do, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered; in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.
2Th 2:3 Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition, (Many falling from grace)
1Ti 4:1 But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
2Ti 4:3 For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear.
2Ti 4:4 And they will turn away their ears from the truth and will be turned to myths.
2Ti 4:5 But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry.
Jam 5:19 Brothers, if anyone among you err from the truth, and if anyone turns him back,
Jam 5:20 know that he who turns back the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
Heb 6:5 and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 and who have fallen away; it is impossible, I say, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify the Son of God afresh to themselves and put Him to an open shame.
2Pe 2:20 For if they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the full knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and are again entangled, they have been overcome by these, their last things are worse than the first.
2Pe 2:21 For it would have been better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than fully knowing it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
1Jo 5:16 If anyone sees his brother sin a sin not to death, he shall ask, and He shall give him life for those that do not sin to death. There is a sin to death, I do not say that he shall pray for it.
1Jo 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not to death.
1Jo 5:18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not continue to sin, but the one born of God guards himself, and the evil one does not touch him.
God desires a daily relationship with those saved by Christ. He encourages us by the Holy Spirit to know and keep his truths. He also encourages the saved to put on His armor to prevent falling into sin.
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world’s rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Therefore stand, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness
Eph 6:15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
Eph 6:16 Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Jesus said He would never leave those saved… He did not say that the saved could not leave Him!
Heb 13:5 Let your way of life be without the love of money, and be content with such things as you have, for He has said, “Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you, never!”
Salvation is given by grace, but then God expects those that are His to live by His rules, following His word. Our lives become a test of our faith. If any do not follow God’s word, they are not changed by faith and should look to the future with fear. If any are not being changed into a new nature, they are not fit for heaven and cannot exist in the presence of a holy God.
It is also possible to fall away from the faith in Christ that saves. Therefore, be strong and resist temptation and run the race of life to win salvation and the eternal heaven with God when this life is over.
