Walking with God

2Co_6:16 And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
Mic_6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you but to do justice and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?
1Jn_1:7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Notes:

  • Walking with God is not only possible, but encouraged and required by God for approval.
  • A walk with a friend is a pleasing passage of time, not to be rushed but cherished. Many things can be discussed for reflection, profit and leading to wisdom.
  • Walking humbly prevents us from focusing on ourselves and enables us to think and see truths with God’s wisdom more clearly and with appreciation.
  • Walking with someone prevents us from rushing ahead or falling behind. Rather, we are in sync and in unison united together. We explore the path ahead one step at a time without impatience or worry knowing that a friend is near to help overcome obstacles.
  • Walking implies a forward motion leading to achieving a desired goal with a steady determination. The slow steady walk enables one to be aware of the surroundings so as not to stumble or go astray off the correct path.
  • Walking gives exercise to make one healthy and strong in body.
  • Walking with God aids in right thinking and a unity of spirit.
  • God enabled those in Christ to walk with Him by allowing The Holy Spirit to reside in and as part of every believer. The Holy Spirit provides a means to guide, teach and converse with God, thus fulfilling God’s desire to walk with His people continually.
  • When we walk with Christ, we have been cleansed from sin through Christ’s grace and are guaranteed to be in His will.

Enjoy a walk with God today and everyday and your walks will last throughout eternity.
