Is masterbation wrong?
Is masturbation wrong? by lcl
There are those who say masturbation is not described in the bible. I would encourage all that we should focus first on the desires of God instead of our own desires. We can always make excuses for our actions, but that does not make them right in the eyes of god. I realize that some folks might think that they have a pretty good case to present to God, but I still suggest that they pray about the matter first. See if God will not solve problems brought to Him before taking matters into their own hands. Take note of these guides for living.
Mat 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32 For the nations seek after all these things. For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.
Mat_6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.
Here, scripture is speaking about basic necessities, which normally come before life’s desires and passions. Therefore, the desires should certainly be included in our prayers for permission. God knows that we all have many needs and a lot more desires.
Rom_13:9 For: “Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not lust;” and if thereisany other commandment, it is summed up in this word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Now, don’t mis-step here.)
1Th 4:2 For we know what commands we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
1Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication,
1Th 4:4 each one of you to know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor
1Th_4:5 (not in the passion of lust, even as the nations who do not know God),
Jas_1:15 Then when lust has conceived, itbrings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death.
2Pe_2:10 and especially those who walk after the flesh in thelust of uncleanness, and despise dominion. They are darers, self-pleasing; not trembling at glories, speaking evil.
1Jn_2:16 because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn_2:17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Jud_1:4 For certain men crept in secretly, those having been of old previously written into this condemnation, ungodly ones perverting the grace of our God for unbridled lust, and denying the only Master, God, even our Lord Jesus Christ.
All the above involves lust. I would submit that one could also lust after any sexual emotion bringing self gratification. It really sounds like God prefers that we depend on Him for all our needs. Remember that God has unlimited resources and can heal the body.
1Ti_5:6 But she who lives in self-pleasure has died while living.
2Ti 3:2 For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti_3:3 without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good,
2Pe_2:10 and especially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise dominion. They are darers, self-pleasing; not trembling at glories, speaking evil.
Again, God desires that we put Him first and become strong in controlling ourselves in all things. I still suggest taking all cares to God first and asking Christ for help and guidance. See what solution gives the most peace. Then, give God some time to bring a solution to completeness.
1Jn 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1Jn 5:13 I have written these things to you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1Jn_5:15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
