PRAYER–Blessing BLOCKERS
- Sin . God cannot be where there is sin. Psalm 66:18, Isa.1:15, Jer.14:7,12, Ezekiel 8:18, John9:31, 1stJohn 3:22-23, 1st Peter 3:12 The Holy Spirit can be grieved and leave. No hearing equals no answers and no power.
- Not accepting Christ: John 8:47, 10:27
- A hardened heart unwilling to listen to God. Mark 6:52, Jeremiah 7:13-16
- Prayers for personal pleasures. Mark 4:19, James 4:3
5. Pride 2nd Chronicles 7:14, 32:16 Mark 7:21-29 Psalms 138:6 Proverbs 8:13, 16:15,18
29:33, 1st Corinthians. 11:28-30, James 4:6, 1st Peter 5:5-6
- Husbands not giving honor to their wives. 1 Peter 3:7
- Lack
of Faith:
- God isn’t: Christ is not who He says. Matt. 13: 57-58, Mark 6: 4-5, 11:24
- God can’t. The mountain is to big. Remember, all things are possible with Christ. Mark 6:45
- God won’t: Someone (me or thee) isn’t worthy. Remember, Christ’s blood and daily repentance/forgiveness cover all sin. Besides, God saves and heals through grace.
- Wavering faith Matthew 21: 21-22, Mark 6: 4-5, James 5:13-16
- Giving up: Change is not evident right away. Remember, a miracle only takes a moment. It is darkest before the dawn, etc. Ask God what He wants!
- Asking the same thing over and over prevents increasing faith. Mark 11:24 says ask and then believe. If we keep on asking, we are not believing. Ask once, then let praise and thanksgiving take over. The friend in Luke 11:5-10 helped after the first request so he would not have to be bothered again.
- More faith and focus is needed: Fasting required. Matt.17:20-21, Mark 4:19 & 9:28-29
- Non-acceptance: Who, me? Be alert, believe and receive.
- Unconfessed sin: James 5: 14-16, 1st John 1:9, 1st Corinthians. 11:28-30
- Unforgiveness Matt.6:12-15, Mark 11:25-26 shows the sins of the prayer remain, Luke 6:37, 11:4, 1st Corinthians. 11:28-30
- Vain repetitions Matthew 6:6 Luke 6:5-8 Ecclesiastes 5:2 2Kings 4:33, Job 35:13
- Lack of Compassion: Matt.14:19, Mark 1:41 Without love all else means nothing. 1st Cor. 13:2 Love God first then your neighbor as yourself. Christ always had compassion leading to grace and healing.
- Ignorance of the word. Hosea 4:6, 2nd Timothy 2:15 The word is used to do battle.
13. Fear 2nd Chron.20:17, Jer.1:8, Phil.4:6-7
14. Faith without works is dead. James 2:14-26 lcl
