Giving

The sacrifices of (for) God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart– these, O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17

Honor the Lord with your possessions and the first fruits of all your (net) increase for you to have plenty. Proverbs 3:9,10

Israel’s kings took 1/10 of the wealth of the people. 1Samual8:15, 17

When you receive the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the Lord’s offering. Numbers 18:26

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove (test) Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts,” if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be enough room to receive it.” Malachi 3:10

Giving & reaping are proportional. Give cheerfully out of generosity. 2Cor.9:6-11, Luke 6:38

Give in proportion to God’s blessings to you. Deut. 16:17

Give regularly according to how well you prosper. 1Cor.16:1-2

God notes peoples giving in proportion to their total wealth instead of how much is given.

Example: The widows two mites. Mark12:41-44, Luke 21:1-4

There is one who scatters (seeds of giving), yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. Proverbs 11:24-25

The first fruits should be to the church. Deut.18:4 (But not at the expense of canceling God’s commandments! See “Tradition”)

Before giving to God, resolve personal conflicts with other believers, to agree with God’s will. Matt.5:23-24

Giving to the poor encouraged. Deut. 15:7-8, Proverbs 14:21, 22:9 and 28:27, Matt.19:21

Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive and he will be blessed on the earth; You (God) will not deliver him to his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; He will sustain him on his sickbed. Psalm 41:1-3

When you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just. Luke 14:13-14

Pay to the government what is due and give to God what is due Him. Matt. 22:17-21, Mark12:14-17, Luke 20:22-25, Romans 13:7-8

Give blessings to God (and others) when you are able. Mark14:3-9

God will always make you rich enough to be generous at all times (causing us to be thankful to God). 2Cor.9:11 TEV

Give charitable deeds in secret to be rewarded in heaven. Matt.6:1-4

Pure undefiled religion before God is to visit orphans and widows in trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

Give to everyone who asks you to and if they keep what is given, do not ask for its return.

Luke 6:30 God will reward you equally. Luke 6:35, 38

Lend even to enemies, hoping for nothing in return, to be rewarded of God. Be like God who is kind to unthankful and evil persons (hoping to draw them to Christ while there is a chance for salvation.) Luke 6:35

A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven (God). John 3:27 It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35

Honor (help) widows without families of children or grandchildren. Those widows who do have families should be cared for by their own family. 1Tim.5:3-4

Do not take young widows into (your house to live) unless they have proven themselves interested in spiritual things more than worldly things or lustful desires. They should remarry and build a family to be fulfilled. 1Timothy 5:9-16

Provide for your own household, else you have denied the faith (of Christ) and are worse than an unbeliever. 1Tim.5:8
