Testing
God waits to be gracious and have mercy on you in order that He will be exalted. Those who wait for Him are blessed and receive justice. Isaiah 30:18
God fulfills the vision of those who wait (on Him). Habakkuk 2:1-3
God invites testing to prove His blessings when tithing is done. Malachi 3:10 Christians are tested by their fruit. (Bringing in new Christians) Matt. 12:33
No one can say “Jesus is Lord” (and mean it) except by the Holy Spirit. 1Cor.12:3 Every spirit that does not confess Jesus came in the flesh, is not of God. 1John 4:3
Whoever speaks of Jesus as the son of God, God abides in him & he in God.1John 4:15, Romans 10:9
One who speaks of himself seeks glory for himself, but those that seek glory for (Christ) are true and have no unrighteousness in them. John 7:18
Those who do not hear God’s words are not of God. John 8:47
Christians are tempted in order that they may grow and help others. Hebrews 2:18 Rejoice that testing of your faith develops patience (perseverance). James 1:2-3 God will not allow temptation beyond our ability to resist. 1Cor.10:12-13
Active Christians will be persecuted by the world. John 15:18-23
Those who live according to the flesh think about things of the flesh. Those who live according to the Spirit think about things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5, 1st Cor.2:14
Those not saved think the message of Christ’s cross is foolishness. 1st Cor.1:18
Believers are to judge (test) all things (as good or evil) guided by the Holy Spirit who knows
the mind of Christ 1Cor.2:15-16, 1Thes.5:21
Pray without ceasing, giving thanks for everything. Do not quench the Holy Spirit. Respect prophesies. Test all things, holding onto that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil. 1Thes.5:17, 21, 22
Carnal people, and churches, show envy, strife and division. 1Cor.3:3
By two or three witnesses every word shall be established (proven). 2Cor.13:1 Test (examine) yourself to know that Christ is in you. 2Cor.13:5
He who says that he is in the light, but hates his brother is in darkness and is blinded, because those that are in the light love their brothers. 1st John 1:6-8, 4:19-21
Do not love the world or the things of the world; the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, or else the love of the Father is not in you. 1st John 2:15-16
We are assured that we know Him (Christ), if we keep His commandments. 1st John 2:3-6, 5:2-3
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either. He who acknowledges the Son has also the Father.1st John 2:23-24
Whoever has been born of God does not sin (purposely). 1st John 3:9-10
If our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 1st John 3:21
Whoever sins (purposely) and does not abide (live) according to the doctrine of Christ does not have God. Whoever lives by the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
2nd John 1:9 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house or greet him, else you share in his evil deeds. 2ndJohn 1:10-11
Those that keep Christ’s commandments abide in Him and He in them. This is proven by the Holy Spirit being given to those that abide in Him. 1st John 3:24, 4:12-16
We are told to test people’s spirits to see if they are of God. The specific test is if they confess that Jesus has come in the flesh. 1st John 4:1,2 The reverse is also true as a description of the spirit of the Anti-Christ. 1 st John 4:3 The Antichrist spirit speaks the base language of the world and the worldly people listen. 1st John 4:5 Those that know God listen to other godly people. 1st John 4:6 Once a person has passed the test, other Christians are to love them. Verse 7
If a person does not love as they should, they are not of god. (This can also be a self test)
God gave the example of what it is to love by showing the love of Christ. Verses 9, 10 One Christian loving another is a self test to know that one is abiding in Christ and He in
them since He has given them of his spirit. 1st John 4:12-13
When Christians stand together in faith, and not in fear, they are proof of perdition to the unsaved and proof of salvation to the saved. Philip.1:27-28
Beware that none cheat you out a belief in Christ through philosophy, deceit, tradition or the base principles of the world which are not in agreement with Christ’s teachings.
Colossians 2:8
The gospel is to be spoken so as to please God, not men, as a means of testing the hearts of those who speak it. 1Thes.2:4
What we speak is important for the things said will eventually become the basis for much of our judgement. Matthew 12:36
Notice, that all of these check tests do not involve time, gender, location, race or age. They are
universal helps to better know ourselves and those that we come in contact with. Their primary concern is for our welfare and our relationship to God. They are not complicated, but are as simple as taking ones temperature. Isn’t it nice that God loves us so. He wants us to judge ourselves now, knowing that if we do not, He will eventually have to.
