The church rioting
The Churchriot?? by lcl
Well, here is a view you don’t hear every day. A black pastor, named Manning, warning “the brothers” that the whites are going to riot if they get pushed too far by Obama. He also believes that the church will enter the fray because of sinful legislation and the sins of the president. He might be right that there will be riots, but “the church” has a few things going for them that should be taken into account.
Christians have been taught how to deal with oppression. Other than a few misguided that try and kill abortion doctors, most have heard the words of Paul in how to endure hard times.
Php 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Hard times don’t excuse sin against the will of the Father and the teaching of Jesus. Murder is out, but voting is definitely an option. They have also been taught about grace and turning the other cheek.
Mat 5:39 But I say to you, Do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. It likely will take more than an act of congress to move them out of the pews. It will take an act of God. Righteous anger is somewhat of an alien term today to those secure in the everlasting arms of God. Of course, anything is possible if God puts out the word that judgement is due. God still pretty much reserves all judgement rights for Himself though. God even describes that He will lead the charge in the battle of Armageddon which is expected in the not to distant future. Many have simply taken the wait and see attitude because of expecting the return of Christ at any time. They know that the world is supposed to be in a mess when the rapture occurs, and they expect to be “taken out” when times get too tough. To be sure, a lot of Christians have been brought to their knees in prayer for family and country. That’s a good thing. Believers trust that God hears and will create a way out of the socialist mess. That route may take awhile. Ask any Jew! The point is that God uses the hardship time to draw more people to Him when they realize that the problem is larger than they can handle. Sometimes, He just lets us stew in our own juices for awhile when we brought on the problem in the first place. Be careful, you may get what you ask for. Wanna bet a lot of people will vote differently next time? The church has a support group. Christians know how to help each other through hard times. Christians have been put upon for a long time. They expect it!
Joh 15:18 If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
Joh 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
The real church knows that prayer helps and that miracles still happen. Perseverance and patience are encouraged because God is not dead and is not hard of hearing. He hears the prayers of those that are His and takes pleasure in helping them, or gives enough grace to endure. The church knows how to “hang on.”
The church may not kill, but they sure can peacefully demonstrate.
Others, not so gracious, may retaliate further. Small groups may seek more expedient means to change the leadership of the country. Thinking people know that there is a larger problem than just the president. He is only the tip of the liberal congress. It would not even be a surprise if the very people that voted in Obama turn against him when his policies fail to bring relief due to the middle class and corporations running out of money and tax revenues shrinking. Conservatives will outlast the poor because they know how to conserve resources. Just read the story of the ant and the grasshopper by Aesop.
