Finding Peace in Christ
by Charles Stanley & lcl
Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
God promises us peace, but it is necessary to follow His direction and have the proper attitudes.
1. We must first invite Christ to be lord of our lives and repent of past sins. The world will not give us peace thus it is necessary to seek the help of Jesus.
2. We must believe that God is in control over all things. God can work in our behalf when we are under His protection.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
3. We must trust God to meet all our needs.
Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
4. It is necessary to maintain a clear conscience through obedience to God’s words.
5. We must accept our self as God made us. We have been created to fulfill the purpose that God had in mind to accomplish His will.
6. Know that we have a purpose to fulfill for God. Maintain a sense of seeking to fulfill that purpose.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
7. Create a sense of confidence that we are in God’s will and can accomplish that which God desires.
8. Have a sense of belonging to Christ to shield from any thoughts of rejection.
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
