Good Reasoning for Bad Choices
Good reasoning for a bad conclusion
Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which Jehovah God had made. And he said to the woman, Is it so that God has said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2 And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die,
Gen 3:5 for God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as God, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make wise, she took of its fruit, and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Jas_1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.
2Ti 3:1 Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be at hand.
2Ti 3:2 For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good,
2Ti 3:4 traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2Ti 3:5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.
2Ti 3:6 For of these are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women loaded with sins, led away with different kinds of lusts,
2Ti 3:7 ever learning and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth.
Eve thought herself wiser than God when she ignored His truth. She listened to the serpent instead and reasoned that the banned tree was good in many ways. Her desire and bad reasoning led to the unhappy result predicted by God. Thinking without obedience got her, Adam and all of us into trouble. Aside from the weeds, thorns and general troubles, man became separated from God because sin had entered into mankind.
God tells us that when we need wisdom, we should ask Him for it. Yet, poor reasoning and a lie caused America to ban God from our schools. Without God’s morals and basis for good living our youth have been led astray ever since. The results of a godless society have now led us into the grievous times described in the Titus reading above. Continuous scenes of violence seen in movies and video games have desensitized youth to the value of life and the pain caused by sinful acts. Instead of turning to God for help many turn instead to drugs and despair. When senseless violence occurs, guns are blamed instead of the people who have reasoned badly. Their reasoning led to bad conclusions and acts because God’s rules have been omitted. Truth is not attained without including God’s viewpoint. God desires that people should seek Him when problems arise. He wants to help and give hope for a better future. Without God and individual responsibility mankind is doomed to failure. Those that have not turned to God will never be allowed to live with Him because they have chosen, of their own will, to live without Him in this short life. Those that do not choose truth live in lies and will pay the penalty for it.
